(Pete) Nelson started Nelson Benefits Group in 1989, he focused on providing his corporate, professional, municipal, and individual clients with a variety of insurance products and services that left them feeling confident and secure. With his vast industry experience and his genuine care, Pete helped clients avoid disruptive and costly problems. Keeping thousands of employees and their families not only stay healthy, but also set them on a path towards a stronger financial future.
Prior to starting Nelson Benefits Group, Pete began his work in the insurance industry in 1962 where he assisted some of the state’s largest and best-known corporations in the management of their group benefits programs.

In 2003, Pete took his daughter Kathleen (Kathy) Nelson Evans under his wing. Today, she carries on his legacy by bringing the same level of care in developing employee benefit packages in order to attract exceptional talent and retain those one-of-a-kind employees.
